Inpatient Psychiatry Services

The Psychiatry department at Northwest Hospital consists of two inpatient adult psychiatric units. The units operate on a crisis stabilization model and has an average six-day length of stay. The unit has the capacity to handle geriatric patients and others with concurrent medical conditions and accepts both voluntary and involuntary patients. Our providers also coordinate with community providers to get you the care you need.

Consultation/Liaison Services

The Psychiatric Consultation/Liaison Service provides consultation for inpatients in the general hospital. These services are provided by a psychiatrist and advanced practice nurses.

Psychiatric Emergency Services

Northwest Hospital offers comprehensive psychiatric care to patients over the age of 18 suffering from a variety of emotional and behavioral conditions including depression, schizophrenia and mood disorders.

All patients that enter the psychiatric unit through the ER-7 are medically screened by an ER provider and evaluated by a licensed mental health professional.
